Leica Camera AG - Service - Service im Werk One of the best "doctors" for the M5 is Sherry Krauter (but she´s in USA). I saw a camera she made - wow, perfect. Es ist nicht ein CLA, sondern eine CLA, und es handelt sich dabei um eine nur als Prototyp in ganz geringen Stückzahlen gefertigte Leica CL mit Zeitautomatik. Quasi der Vorläufer der M7. Ja, Ronald, ich glaube Minolta hat diese Vorarbeiten dann übernommen und die CLE auf den Markt gebracht (sie durften sie damals nicht CLA nennen, aus markenrechtlichen Gründen). Nachschlagen hilft weiter: Langenscheidt: do: herstellen, anfertigen: "do a translation" Google: CLA: Olympus CLA-4 Adapter. Due to an 'erreur de frappe' I wrote CLa, of course I meant CLA (English is only my third language, but this is not an excuse, I know, I know...). This has nothing to do with any prototype or something, just the short for Cleaning, Lubrication and Adjustment, what is in Flemish, : reinigen, smeren en afstellen ; in French : nettoyer, lubrifier et ajuster. The fact that I have some doubts about Leica-Camera it self is that there might be no more 'veterans' left who can work on the M5 (correct me if I am wrong). The Belgian Leica service agency admits not to know the rather exceptional M5 construction technology. I used to go to Ton Scherpenborgh in Holland, but he 's retired now, he was very good indeed.
