No experience, but some of my favorites got Leitax mounts and work on my Nikons.

For 10 screw mounts get the official Leitax. The extra 4 hold the lens together.

For 6 screw mounts, the ones from Rainbow Imaging in Brooklyn , NY, are just fine for $16.

Unless you have a NC machine set up, there is no way to put the extra 4 holes in. Location is tricky but doable, but the is a countersink component impossible with a drill press.

I don't but I've seen Ivor, who is the proprietor of Red Dot Cameras, using one with his M240 and his pictures looked very good on his iPad and he was very pleased. That's probably not the recommendation you were looking for but it's the best I can offer.

I've used my 28-90 Vario-Elmarit-R asph on my 5D Mk2 and the results are superb if that helps. It has a reputation for being one of the best zoom lenses ever made and out performs most prime lenses at their relative focal lengths. It's a very light lens for its size so it should work pretty well with the M240 I'd have thought.

It's a superb lens, and is the one R lens Leica chose to demo the M at Photokina - which may or may not say something! It resides beside the demo M in our cabinet. It may be light for its size - but...!

Price of this lens has risen greatly over the last few months, BTW.

I have the lens :).

Still waiting for the camera :(

Same here, though I wouldn't mind moving down the queue until the adapter and EVF2 are also available!

Yes I've also got the 28-90 R zoom, and it is a splendid lens; at the wide end it's better than some of the R primes, which themselves are sometimes quite old designs. At the long end it loses nothing or little to the primes (depending on which one) apart of course from maximum aperture, which is why I keep my 90/2AA.

As Ivor and Brian will know (given what appeared to be sold rather quickly at Red Dot) the price is now astronomical!

Yes, a little. (Having a number of R lenses, time for any of them is scarce and the 80 Summilux has been hogging the available time.:o.)

It's a reasonable combination to handle although, as you might expect, a little front heavy. The combination is 'solid' without feeling too heavy to me but my brains 'M-memory' occasionally kicks in and vague thoughts of "this is bulky for an M lens" drift through my consciousness until I remember that it's not an M lens.

I find it easy enough to use with a no-name M to R adaptor and the little red ants and EVF magnification are quite helpful for focussing although thin depth of field is rare with this lens. I use a rubber eyecup on my EVF and that helps my glasses and focussing a lot.
