Atracksler Posted March 15, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted March 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received my M8. I have a Voghtlander 40 Nokton on it. Â I know that I can (supposedly) set it up as a 50mm so that the camera does the corrections, right? If I can I cant see where I can set the lens in the menu. Â Is this only a feature with coded lenses? Â 2.014 firmware on the M8. Â Thanks in advance, and appologies if this is the dumbest question ever. I couldnt find it in the manual... Advertisement Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Hi Atracksler, Take a look here M8 and lens detection?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted March 15, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted March 15, 2013 There is no lens menu in the M8. If you want to treat your CV 40/14 as a 50mm lens, all you have to do is coding it like a 50mm Leica. You might try the Summilux 50/1.4 pre-asph's code (000101) but i have zero experience with the CV 40/1.4. I would rather treat it as a 35mm lens on the M8 most probably. Â The M9 has a menu option to manually set the lens profile, the M8 doesn't. The only way to code a lens for use on an M8 is with the 6 bit pattern on the lens mount. Maybe google to see if the 40 nokton benefits much from coding and if so what code works best.
