Jeff S Posted March 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've searched some old threads, but wondered if anyone has recent experience using the latest iteration of ImagePrint in conjunction with LR4. And, more specifically, if anyone is using LR4 for their primary editing, and perhaps even page layout, relying on IP for its profiles and for the last stages of printing once things are set (I suppose this might be through their 'Print Through Application', and I hope PTA doesn't stand for pain in the...). I'm interested in both color and b/w experience....pros and cons. To date I've relied on a friend to custom profile various papers for me (he owns the expensive Eye One gear), that I've then incorporated into my LR workflow. I would like to experiment with other papers, but frankly I don't want to continually impose on him, and I've gotten spoiled by his results compared to other less expensive profile options. And, I've grown fond of using LR4, with no desire to disrupt my current workflow. I know that IP is relatively expensive, but it's still inexpensive compared to buying top quality profiling gear, not to mention the labor involved. Is IP a good option for me? I'm looking for a solution that is also user friendly, as I hate dealing with quirky or complicated interfaces. That's when I usually end up calling my friend for assistance. As an aside, I rely on SprectraView, built into my NEC monitor, for monitor calibration, which I know is critical for good results, RIP or otherwise. But right now SpectraView doesn't talk to my MacPro since moving to OS 10.7.5, and Apple supposedly won't have a fix until 10.8.3 is released. So, I have some time to contemplate my next steps. Meanwhile I'm relying on the LUT from my last calibration (or so I assume). Thanks, Jeff

Jeff S Posted March 12, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted March 12, 2013 I should add that I'm using an Epson 3800, with standard inks. Jeff
melissah Posted April 23, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 23, 2013 Imageprint is great. I've used it and relied on it, but! I'm now leaving it. Well not entirely. Ill keep an old version on an older machine. I'm going to get a colormunki photo and make a few profiles. My monitors need to be calibrated more often than I do so I thought why not try since this device dose that and I use few papers. Anyway, IP worked well enough for me.
