Hi,

It seems I misplaced (lost) the lens hood for my 35-70 Vario-R f/4.0.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement? (I'd like to find an exact replacement as the original lens hood could be reversed for storage.)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the quick reply and extremely useful information. This forum is terrific. My sincere thanks, I've already ordered a replacement!

Good. Glad to hear that. Our (now) mutual friend, Dave Elwell has also proven to be invaluable to me of late.

If you can deal with the extra length for packing, I just leave the hood in the shooting position. Though the front of the lens rotates when using the focus ring, and if you want to use the lens with circular Polarizing filters or Grad filters, I use a Cokin P 77mm filter adapter with a little Gaffers tape inside of the ring that slips over the end of the lens hood. I only remove the hood if I want to remove the ND filter that I keep on the lens and then use the Cokin P 77 mm adapter ring which I slip over the hood after re-attaching the hood. I then use a Singh-Ray warm Polarizing filter and/or Singh-Ray Grad filters in the Cokin P size. I can then rotate any of the filters to their optimum orientation this way. Of course, this works best particularly with Grad filters when the camera is tripod mounted.
