defektive Posted February 27, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted February 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, I'm looking at investing in an R setup to supplement my M gear and am after a couple of opinions. I am looking at purchasing an Elmarit 180mm (second version) and Summilux 80mm and considering mounting them on an R5. Ideally I would like someone to post some pictures here if they have either of these lenses on an R5 as I am struggling to find any on the internet. Having not seen the R5 or either lens in person I need some information on whether the lenses mentioned balance well on it or am I better to look at an R8? Â Any help would be much appreciated. a.noctilux Posted February 27, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted February 27, 2013 Hello Sam, Â Do you mean you want to see pictures of the gear, R5 with Summilux-R 80mm ? Â I use this Summilux 80 with R6 (with a kind of "bumper" at rear). A bit front-heavy but the combo is well balanced when I focus with the large focus ring. What is the bumper you are referring to? Does the lens look oversized in comparison to the camera or are they well matched?
steveclem Posted February 28, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted February 28, 2013 You could use any picture/model from R4 to R7, the bodies are the same size with the exception the R7 is a little deeper due to the electronics. IMO, the R8/9 are great lumpen oafs. Â Though many will disagree with that point, eyesight will inevitably deteriorate eventually, which will help.
