Iduna Posted February 24, 2013 Share #1  Posted February 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) these days it is snowing almost continuously. But then, preparing everthing for a wet adventure one can discover little surprises full of hope. Inspite of coldness and snow there is a big bush full of blossoms in our neighbourhood.  These shots were being done as usual with my Canon 5DMKII mounted with Elmarit Macro 60 mm + APO Converter 2x   Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted February 24, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Iduna, Â A cheerful shot of good things to come. I like the second shot the most. Â Paul
Northwest Wanderer Posted February 24, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Iduna, Â Nice to see the hope of spring in your images. I to like the second image best.
Iduna Posted February 24, 2013 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Paul and Bill, Â many thanks for your interesting comment. Since you both chose the second one as your favourite I can tell that the first one was without tripod. The second one could designed more carefully on a tripod and so the waterdrop could be focussed and the background of a tiled roof is giving a special warm temperature. Northwest Wanderer Posted February 24, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Iduna, Interesting to have a little history on the two images. I looked at both again and now I can see why I had a preference. The tripod did in fact sharpen things but I had not noticed that at first. Interesting point. Iduna Posted February 24, 2013 Author Share #6 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Bill, Â sometimes these thing only come out when seeing them on the screen at home. but a tripod is always better or at least a monopod with those shots.
k-hawinkler Posted February 24, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted February 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Iduna, Â Terrific images. I prefer the first one as it has richer colors. But, both are great! Thanks.
platypus Posted February 25, 2013 Share #8 Â Posted February 25, 2013 Hi Iduna, Nice shots and very sharp. I would choose the first shot for colour depth. They very strange flora, somewhat reminiscent of twists of barley sugar. They look quite edible. It's good that you can look forward to spring arriving soon. Here we are quite tired of summer and are keenly anticipating autumn, which is just around the corner, the shadows are getting longer. Dee.
Iduna Posted February 25, 2013 Author Share #9  Posted February 25, 2013 K.-H., many thanks for being so enthusiastic. Yes, the first one is richer in colours . I thank the bright background is partly responsible for this.  Dee, thanks for having a close look. I admit I also like the first one for that same reason a bit more. but I am undecided. Indeed the Hamamelis essence is used in many healing ointments and in this sense it is intersting that it is the first to blossom. But still, it it snowing mixed with rain and temperatures about zero ° here. We can easily drop something of this at your place...
