Advertisement Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Hi Carl E, Take a look here New M-mount Voigtländer lenses announced. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted March 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 26, 2007 Interesting. They discontinued the 25mm F4 'Snapshot' Skopar in screw thread, I wonder if the M lens is the same, i.e. not rangefinder coupled? Don't know why the other lens was discontinued, its a great little lens.
stunsworth Posted March 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 27, 2007 I think the new 25 is rangefinder coupled. Have a look on the Cameraquest website, I think there are details there. There was some discussion elsewhere that the optical formulaes are identical to the old versions.
wizard Posted March 27, 2007 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2007 In the long run, CV is probably going to change all its lenses to M-mount. They don't offer a screw mount camera anymore, so this move would be logical. Optically I believe the new 21 and 25mm lenses are identical to the old ones, with the 25 now being rangefinder coupled. earleygallery Posted March 27, 2007 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2007 It would be a shame if they dropped the thread mount lenses altogether - apart from their own LTM cameras which are out there, the VC lenses have given our LTM's a new lease of life. bill Posted March 27, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 27, 2007 I agree. An LTM-mount plus adaptor is more flexible than an M-mount alone, and there is no "penalty" in performance or functionality. I would have thought that by going all-M Voigtlander would be narrowing their market un-necessarily. Regards, Bill
Guest stnami Posted March 27, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) . This is definitely a WIDE ANGLE camera. The bright-frame for 50mm lenses is rather small and I imagine it would be a bit difficult to use. The 35mm frame is better of course the 21/25/28mm frame lines look great. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37461 .
