IWC Doppel Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been experimenting with noise reduction, to see what I might be able to achieve with higher ISO setting on my M9-P I have the LuLa videos and have watched a number of others and experimented a fair bit. The trouble is I am struggling to find good settings for 1,000 and 1,600. Every time I think I have improved I see that awful plasticity in the finished image. Any advice and M9 specific settings ? I have tried the settings below but welcome other suggestions
Advertisement Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here LR4 noise reduction. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest WPalank Posted February 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2013 Buy a product like Nik Define where you can control where the NR is applied. Even better, export the image to CS6, then employing Layer Masks, paint in the NR only where it is needed. I rarely find an image that needs NR globally. Jeff S Posted February 18, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 18, 2013 Buy a product like Nik Define where you can control where the NR is applied. Even better, export the image to CS6, then employing Layer Masks, paint in the NR only where it is needed. No need; LR 4 (unlike LR 3) allows for local noise control using either the adjustment brush or the graduated filter tool in the develop module. IWC Doppel Posted February 23, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted February 23, 2013 Thanks for the help so far. I was looking for example presets, perhaps less use a preset ?
jaapv Posted February 23, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 23, 2013 As the NR settings depend on exposure, contrast and subject matter, to mention but a few, it is not really possible to use a preset for best result.
