When really "addicted", a Leica collector cannot resist the magic of the name, wherever it appears.

The Fontenelle collection included items that had nothing to do with the camera - or even the photographic world - , except the five magic letters : a sugar, a chocolate, a pin, or a pair of sleeve-buttons.

Or purely marketing objects like silver miniature and commemorative medal of the Ur-Leica, and replica of a Leitz commemorative plate.

Or even - but that's the limit - a book in german written for young girls an called "Leica-Mädel Monika" (Monica, the Leica-girl), telling the story of a courageous and vertuous teen-ager who received a Leica (M3) and became a reporter.

And finally - definitely "off-limits" - a camera bearing a name starting with the letters LEI and manufactured in Wetzlar... a Leidolf Lordomat.

With my sincere apologies to the serious Leica collectors, who are the only ones supposed to access this thread.

A friend of mine in the 60s had a Lordomat, it seemed a good solid camera, better than Paxettes etc. but as I remember it the lenses were nothing special and it had a few oddities, such as a wind on 'lever' that worked in reverse and took several strokes to wind a frame.
