pico Posted January 10, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2013 Did Leica ever have a way to record time and date on film like some of the other camera makers? In way, yes, The Leica MD had a slot on the bottom for a little clear plastic strip which you can mark as you wish.
stunsworth Posted January 13, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2013 The Minilux had a data back. When I bought my Minilux the dealer included it as part of the purchase. Unfortunately the latest date it would show was something like 2004.

pop Posted January 13, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 13, 2013 I used to have a CM Zoom which recorded the date and time in the picture as well.
Jaybob Posted January 14, 2013 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2013 The Z2X had a Data back option as well. from the LEICA CAMERA FORUM WIKI "Camera available with or without data back. Imprints the day and time, or date on the film. Quartz controlled clock and automatic calendar up to year 2019. Intensity controlled automatically according to film speed coding." I have handled this particular camera and it is about as far away from a "great camera" as you can get, it is dreadful.
