I work with Canon 5DMII (21Mpx) and have no problems with big files sizes to photographic prints and especially offset printing at 300ppi or more for quality magazines and books. I have this info from the M9 and would like to have the same for the M8: M9=18 Mpx files/5212x3468 pixels; print up to 55,1x36,5cm with 240ppi M8=10 Mpx...? Also, is there any M8 RAW files (DNG ?) available online to download and make some file evaluation or even print tests? All help would be very appreciated. Thank vey much. Warmest regards. I found original M8 and M9 catalogues and the info now updated according to the catalogues is: M9 18 Mpx files/5215x3472 pixels; prints up to 55,1x36,5cm with 240ppi M8 10,3 Mpx files/3916x2634 pixels; prints up to (...?)x(...?)cm with (...?)ppi (print measures can be in inches or cm and without any interpolation method) Thanks again for your help. Erik Gunst Lund Posted January 5, 2013 Share #8 Posted January 5, 2013 I was citing the 'actual' image size as opened in PhotoShop. Different RAW converters can turn out other sizes yes... The technical data regarding the exact pixel size of an image is not really that interesting for the final print... Cunha Posted January 6, 2013 Author Share #20 Posted January 6, 2013 Pushing a bit this topic... the only thing (after these samples you guys kindly sent me) that is still a problem for me is the macro work. Until recent times my Canon MP-E65mm was the only dslr or mirrorless lens that could present a magnification of until x5. Minimum 1/1; max. x5 times 1/1. Meanwhile there´s this new interesting lens. Yasuhara - NANOHA x5 review Minimum 1/1; max. x5 times 1/1, like Canon. Only works with Sony E-mount system or Micro 4/3 system. I must have two systems because of the macro. RF are not that good for macro even with the old Visoflex. Macro Leica lens aren´t x5 lens. Nothing close. I can only see one of two solutions: 1. keeping FF Canon with the macro lens. or 2. switch to the Sony E-mount system or Micro 4/3 system for this Nanoha x5 Macro lens instead and give up from Canon for good. My question: with a Leica M system for everything else, which system is more close/compatible, lens speaking via adaptors, image quality, way the system works, etc; with the Leica M-mount?
