Davestan Posted December 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am getting a strong pink coloured flash/ streaking effect on the LCD screen when auto focussing is happening. This is as I depress the button to take the photo on my D-Lux 5. It happens only during the focussing operation mainly on outdoor scenes and on setting A. There is a smaller disturbance on the screen when focussing on the same scenes when camera is set to P. When shooting indoors it is appears OK.( I have tried turning the focus assist light off in case of some reflection but makes no difference). It does not seem to affect the actual photo result. Is this normal for this model? It is around 2 months old.
Advertisement Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Hi Davestan, Take a look here D- LUX 5 Focusing operation. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 12, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2012 I suspect that is just a video exageration of flare from direct sunlight hitting some of the lens elements. I also suspect you see none of it (though you might see some ordinary flare) in playback. There is no lens hood for the D Lux series. A lens hood would reduce this annoying artifact. Digitom Posted December 12, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2012 I have the same effect. Not every time, only when sun is in front or almost in front, means about 10 to 2 o´clock position. No effect on the picture. So it is no malfunction.
