On 10th April 1958 I recieved my first camera for 10th Birthday Thorton Pickard Plate camera ,Since that day collected cameras but never sold or got rid of any .Now 50 years later and 55 Glass display cases and 6000sqft museum devoted mainly to Leica ,Voightlander and Zeiss Ikon ( Only 20 out of 1800 are Japan made Cameras ) I would like to invite any forum member coming to New Zealand to contact me and come and see .

There is over 200 + Leicas bodies Screw / M /R ,250+ lenses nearly every model + also Leitz Projectors ,

(40 ) Microscopes ,binoculars .and a huge library of every Leica book that is possible to get along with display poster and instruction books.100s of Leica Accessories Lightmeters ,Visos ,etc My favourites are the complete cases that hold sets of lenses and assy all of one time ,there around 25 of these from 30s thru to 80s .

The same for most other German cameras .But the main concern is they all are in working order and can be taken down and used .All are operated shutters ,lenses etc on a regular monthy schedule .Have photos but cant get them on the thread ,

Dear "ogrove", when you prepare your post, there's a "manage attachments" button in the "additional Options" section just below the message box. A popup window will come up when you hit the button so you can upload some pictures for us ... I'd like to come to "see" you as well ... cheers!

Hi Colin , thank you for this post and perhaps I will take you up on this kind offer. I live just next door to you and we are contemplating a visit.

I have a small collection too nothing like yours and using a Thornton Pickard Plate as a ten year old is really something. By the way I own the Meagher Tailboard that was used to photograph the 100 year celebrations I think it was 1938? the photos still hang in the Wellington Town Hall. To your posting I would advise PS set the size first ( 960 )

this you find under Help tick resize for online then go to File and choose safe for the web set at 240 pixels best is JPG. this is then ready to upload. A calibrated sceen will be of advantage. Uploading here is done with Attach Files ( manage Attachments ) like this photo here one of our parrots. Congratulation on your collection Colin!

I hope this helps.

Where in NZ are you? I will be in NZ in 2010 for an extended car trip (yeah, I know that's a long way away, but these trips take a lot of planning) and would love to drop by ann see the collection.

I do have one of the original 1925 Leica I cameras (verified by serial number) that is in great working shape.

ogrove:

Mary, my wife, looked at your posted photo of a part of your collection and upon reflection said: "I thought I was looking at the factory collection" (in Solms). Are you a member of LHSA? I am sure that its members and the editor of Viewfinder would be interested in your efforts in acquiring some of the items in your collection. See : :LHSA : : Welcome to LHSA!.

Best Regards,
