I would never have high expectations for a FOC (flash on camera) image, particularly when it doesn't even have bounce capability. If you could put a soft diffuser over the front of the flash head and use a cord to get the flash away from the camera body, the results would undoubtedly be more acceptable. I've heard the Nikon SC-17 cord will work to give ttl dedicated flash with the M8.

Brent I believe both the Nikon SC17 and the Contax TLA100 cords work for off camera flash on the SF24-D. Makes sense for the Contax flash as they were at least originally designed if not made by Metz.
