How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

Hi all! 

 

I'm interested in trying (experimenting) out some older lenses on my M Monochrome but I need recommendations and some hints on prices. 

 

Japp suggested the Canon Itm 1.8 and I have bought one today. 

 

I would be interested in other affordable lenses from the 50/60th - 35mm - 75mm - 90mm

 

What should I look for and what is the price range I should be looking at?

Just a few (good IQ, most under 500$ or thereabouts and not too hard to find, all available in LTM):

Canon 35/2

Nikkor 35/2.5

Canon 85/1.8

Nikkor 85/2

Canon 100/2

Nikkor 105/2.5 

The 75mm and 90mm focal lengths were not popular back then - but you'll find plenty of 85mm and 100/105mm.

 

Good luck with your quest - it's an interesting and rewarding one.
