MM 1 with 35mm Summicron with goggles made in 1960.

In 35 years of shooting with M Leicas, I've used a slew of 35mm lenses including the first version 35mm Summilux, the 35mm Summicron ASPH, the early 35mm Summaron, and the newest 35mm Summilux ASPH fle. Of them all, this 1960 version remains my favorite. I'm not sure why anyone would ever want or need better performance than what I get with this wonderful lens. I recently used it to photograph my friend's 1955 Pontiac Star Chief in front of his house.

@fotografr: Indeed a very nice capture and gorgeous rendering.  Which exactly Leica model number is this? Is there also existing a version of this lens with no googles?

This is model 11108. There is a version without goggles, model 11308. I actually like the goggles because I find the frame lines more accurate than those built into the M bodies. It's a really beautiful combination with the MM. Don't you agree?

In fact it looks interesting but generally I don’t like googles beside those on my nose 😉

I notice your auto correct keeps changing "goggles" to "google's." Mine does the same thing. I doubt you actually have googles on your nose. 🤓
