masters Posted March 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My first M8 had some electrical issues and leica has replaced it with a new camera. i have been taking lots of pictures with the new camera just to make sure that it is working without any problems. I have noticed a few times that the preview of the image I just shot isn't the last image ,but the one second to the last or several frames before. I am wondering if anyone has noticed this. The camera does have the most recent firmware installed. thanks
Advertisement Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Hi masters, Take a look here image preview mystery. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2007 Yes this is a glitch of 1.092. It will be resolved with 1.10. It is also possible that you hit the play button before the camera is finished loading the image to the SD card. In that case it will display the last fully loaded image

The camera does have the most recent firmware installed.thanks I haven't noticed that, yet, except if I hit the Play button before the red light stops flashing. What I have noticed is when going from one image to another, usually backwards through the shots, it will read the next back image but will be the same image as was on the screen. So if I have 15 images on the card and I hit the left arrow button the top readout will say 14/15 but the 15th image is still displayed. Also when using the zoom wheel to zoom in at the first click I will get the 9 image thumbnail view.
timwalker Posted March 20, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 20, 2007 I have noticed this, although if yours is like mine, if you wait a second or two the correct image appears or catches up with the numbering. I'm really hoping that is going to fixed with the next firmware upgrade.
Peyton Hoge Posted March 20, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have found with ALL digital cameras, you run into glitches occassionally....they usually fix themselves, and you learn to live with them. After all, they are really just computers with a lens attached.
masters Posted March 20, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted March 20, 2007 I feel better knowing that this camera doesn't seem to be the only one out there that has this little hickup. Hopefully the next firmware upgrade will fix it. Thanks to everyone who has responded! charles
masters Posted March 22, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted March 22, 2007 I have noticed that the last image that is shown is not the "last image", even when it has been written to the card and I am not shooting fast. In the last sixty exposures this has happened a couple of times, but everything else seems to be working fine with the camera. Has anyone noticed this happening with their camera? charles
guywalder Posted March 22, 2007 Share #10 Posted March 22, 2007 I also find pressing preview while the light is flashing displays the previous image rather than the current one. With auto-review on the correct image comes up strait away, so it should be fixable. I also find, maybe 1 time in 4, that when I turn the zoom control clockwise, instead of zooming in the display 'zooms out' and I get a multipe thumbnail view. The direction arrows are also not the most responsive. I have adopted a kind of 'pause, two, three' approach to using the whole image preview system Guy
wilfredo Posted March 22, 2007 Share #11 Posted March 22, 2007 I haven't noticed this yet but thanks for the heads up. I only just downloaded the 1.92 firmware this morning, and I do like the colors I'm getting. I just shot this about an hour ago, no UVIR fiter, or special profiles. Cheers, Wilfredo Benitez-Rivera Photography
