Perhaps this has been addressed already and I haven't seen the thread, but does anyone have an explanation for this ghosting around the white letters? It has also shown up in several other shots. This was done with the Nocti while I was checking focus on the M8.

Brent,

Are these letters white or red? The reason I ask is that ghosting around anything red is pretty common without the IR-cutoff filter. Maybe there's a connection here.

I did shoot this at F1, and without the IR filter (Leica havn't sent it yet). It was, however, shot as a b&w jpeg, so I would have thought the lack of a filter would have no effect. The lettering is white.

I am noticing that the design just below the word, "Digital," doesn't have the ghosting. Probably this means there is some frontfocusing going on, since I was focusing on the word, "Promaster."

I'm convinced this is IR. IR will cast an out of focus overlay in unpredictable places, depending on the intensity if the IR light, producing just this effect - especially visible in Black and White shots.
