Guy’s

I already have a M9-P and planning to get a new M in the New Year. My question is when I go out shooting now, I sometimes take my D800e with me hanging on a Black Rapid R7 strap and the M9 around my neck but when I get the new M, my plan will be to shoot Leica only so I was wondering what will be the best way to carry two M cameras at the same time (one with a 21mm and the other with say a 90mm attached)………………………….. thoughts ideas????

If I were ever to carry two bodies, I would have one in my bag. I have never felt the need to have more than one actually on my person at the same time, as one tends to look like Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse Now.

Yep maybe that would be the best way to go and the one that is in the bag would be the one with the wrist strap.........I like that idea

Really??

I don't know why you think the question would be any more complicated than to take a camera bag with you.

Carrying two M's is fairly easy. I've carried four M's at a time and even that's not bad. You have three choices when carrying two.

The most conspicuous for when you're at at event and it doesn't matter at all that you're there photographing is two on your chest with the neckstraps at different lengths so they stack one on top of the other. If you want to be slightly less conspicuous you can wear one on your neck and one on a shoulder. The third way is to carry one on each shoulder. That's best for street photography. When worn on the shoulder the M with the 90mm will "ride" better if the camera is worn backward so the top the camera rubs against your body and lens points down, rather than off to the side. (With four it's a combination the above - two around your neck and one on each shoulder.) If you're a big or tall guy you can actually stack three in front but that's a look some don't want. LOL.

Shooting with two M's is great. It's nice to not have to change lenses. If you're in a situation that's a bit dodgy it's best to have one on each shoulder with a baggy coat or jacket worn over them. If the straps are long enough you should be able to shoot with them still "attached" to your shoulder. Danny Lyon said one time that an M in his jacket pocket felt like he was carrying a gun. When worn under a jacket it can kind of give the feeling of having a shoulder holster under the jacket. Sort of.

Good luck with your shooting. You'll have fun.
