philipus Posted November 12, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted November 12, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) From what I understand from Puts's Chronicle, the two versions of the Summilux-R 80mm differ only in the mount - or are there also differences in the optics? philipus Posted November 12, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks Doug. Â It is an interesting lens from the perspective of the M (which I'm considering) since it's got 80cm close focus distance and rendering and size similar to the 75-M but for less (quite a lot I think) than what the M "version" costs. Michael Geschlecht Posted November 13, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted November 13, 2012 Hello Philip, Â Don't expect Leicaflex/R lenses to be significantly different in price than their M counterparts in the not too distant future if the M240 becomes as sucessful as it appears it will. Â Best Regards, Â Michael
luigi bertolotti Posted November 13, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted November 13, 2012 Thanks Doug. Â That's true... at the moment I saw 3 or 4 Lux 80 in the range of 1500-1900 Euros, with Lux 75 always in the 3000 range... but, considering that the "focusing facilities" of the M (LV / EVF) are usable also with the 75, keeping the traditional RF (of course not available on the R-adapted 80) , if I had to think of a so specialized lens, I am not sure that the price advantage is fully worth (supposed, as ought to be, that the rendering is practically the same)... in many critical low light situations I think that good old RF can be unbeatable in action... and in general, you have one more way of focusing with a lens for which focusing is critical by definition: that's a plus.
