wlaidlaw Posted August 3, 2013 Share #222 Posted August 3, 2013 Dinner and tour for me for one. I will forgo the one challenge as I just don't know to what extent my replacement ankle prothesis will be working by then and how far I will be able to walk. stunsworth Posted August 3, 2013 Share #223 Posted August 3, 2013 I will forgo the one challenge as I just don't know to what extent my replacement ankle prothesis will be working by then and how far I will be able to walk I hope everything work out - remember you can decide on the day whether to participate or not. Then again you could just sit in the cafe/bar and take some snaps there. I've often thought that would be more productive than the lamentable photos I've produced up until now. Then again you could just sit in the cafe/bar and take some snaps there. I've often thought that would be more productive than the lamentable photos I've produced up until now. That sounds like a plan that John "Hannibal" Smith would have been proud of. Ankle is now all on the mend, with replacement prosthesis and lots of bone grafts, after some superb Swiss surgery. However as it is last chance saloon with the ankle, I don't want to do anything that might inflame it. Wilson PS Does the 28-85 zoom which I use most of the time on the M240 count as one lens? andybarton Posted August 3, 2013 Author Share #229 Posted August 3, 2013 So, the x-vario is also allowed, but i have to Tell you in advance which focal length i will be using? Yes. One lens means one focal length. Otherwise, I would be able to change my chosen lens at will. You declare what focal length you will use at the beginning and you leave it set thus for all 36 frames. octo Posted August 8, 2013 Share #230 Posted August 8, 2013 Several of the winning shots in the previous Challenges have been taken within yards of the cafe, or even in it. My knee has been acting up a bit: I may well choose that option, or very close to it:(

satijntje Posted August 14, 2013 Share #232 Posted August 14, 2013 Several of the winning shots in the previous Challenges have been taken within yards of the cafe, or even in it. @Andy: are there any limitations concerning the area where pics have to be taken? e.g. within Wetzlar or within 5km or so. I was thinking of the new Leica factory under construction that is just outside of Wetzlar, that might be an interesting location for some of us:D John
octo Posted August 14, 2013 Share #233 Posted August 14, 2013 I can offer you transport as I will come with my car (and I speak French as well) John Thanks for the offer, John, but I booked plane & car a long time ago. Looking forward to see you all again and meet the newcomers.
andybarton Posted August 14, 2013 Author Share #234 Posted August 14, 2013 @Andy: are there any limitations concerning the area where pics have to be taken? You can get on a plane to Rome or Timbuktu if you wish, provided you can take the shots within 2 hours That's not quite in the "spirit" of the Challenge, though

andybarton Posted August 27, 2013 Author Share #237 Posted August 27, 2013 I was thinking over the weekend that I need to post a confirmation to those who have booked the factory tour. Will try to do so over this week.
viramati Posted August 30, 2013 Share #238 Posted August 30, 2013 Would have loved to have made it this year but I'm afraid I am teaching on a meditation/Photography retreat in Scotland. Have fun everyone
wlaidlaw Posted September 1, 2013 Share #239 Posted September 1, 2013 I am going to practice next week. I am participating in the Swiss Lakes Classic Car rally and I felt it would be appropriate to use a classic camera. I am therefore going to take only my M4 and Zeiss 50 ZM Planar lens. Since we are going to be quite high up at times over remote mountain passes, I felt a UV filter was a good idea. I must have had just about every filter size going either UV or UV/IR, except 43mm, so I have had to order one. Wilson
