glenerrolrd Posted November 25, 2012 Share #21 Posted November 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, Lax... Further, all non-Leica lenses adapted to the S2 are manual-focus only since they don't support Leica's AF. However, even in this case, the focus confirmation light will still indicate when the camera thinks correct focus is achieved. And I think the stock focusing screen is fine even with wide f/4 lenses (e.g. 45 and 55mm f/4 Pentax67). So, manually focusing a fast S2 lens is somewhat easier... Hasselblad H lenses will AF on the S2 thru the use of a Leica designed and produced adapter . This has allowed for the use of the H 100/2 ,50/3.5 II and 300/4 for which there are no S lenses available . In addition the H lenses all use leaf shutters making them CS for those that need the higher flash synch speeds . The adapter itself is expensive and there have been some QC issues ..so its best to read up about it and make sure you have a dealer where you can return it easily . Dougg Posted November 25, 2012 Share #22 Posted November 25, 2012 Hasselblad H lenses will AF on the S2 thru the use of a Leica designed and produced adapter .Right you are, I neglected that. Not fair; I have neither that adapter nor the H lenses...
Lax Jought Posted November 25, 2012 Share #23 Posted November 25, 2012 Hmm... I can't seem to focus as well with my Canon 7D and quite often it's frustrating when the AF hunts around for focus when I know if I had my Leica, I would've found focus much quicker.
