Hello Members...

I've been reading this forum for some time now- what a wealth of information, what lovely people.

I'm in my early 30's and have been shooting on and off since the mid 90's. Have always been a Nikon guy since thats what was passed onto me from my Dad. Earlier this year my D800 along with 3K worth of glass was stolen.. very sad/upset/angry/worried. I have no idea what lead me to purchase a second hand M8 but after doing that, I wanted to save on glass so I opted for the Voigtlander Nokton 1.4 35mm.

The M8 is a pleasure to use. The more I use it, the more I like it and the better (decent) I get (shooting on and off, I've never been good). My Voight is also nice- solid and unique. So.... the more I shoot, the more I want to learn. Since a few months ago, I've started using Lightroom and printing. NOW....

Now I want something a bit wider... what the heck, just do it. So I purchased a Super Elmar 21mm 3.4... WOW!!!!! Now I know what Leica is about... Now they probably have me for life. The moment I loaded the files, I knew I was destined for more Leica. I couldnt believe my eyes... its something I can point out but I'm sure most of you guys know what I mean. To reassure myself I wasnt just in a red-dot-hypnotic-state, I opened some old Nikon D800 files. They are perfect.... but Leica is Sublime.

In the coming months I know I wont be able to help myself but purchase an M-E. Hopefully in the coming year/s I will be experienced enough to contribute. I really hope I will be able to contribute and give a little back from the lots I've taken from you guys.

Thanks!!!

Welcome Belicosas -- I hope you enjoy "beautiful things" and not being warlike!? ;)

Leica certainly is one of the few products remaining that has real character. Handling and design are unique. Quality is evident in the glass, especially the wides. With the M it is a challenge to be restricted to one focal length at a time -- but in a good way. Only danger: You will soon want to get more!
