sps Posted November 4, 2012 Share #41 Posted November 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Really? They look to me like any other F1 Noctilux shots made in very dingy light using a digital camera. The kind of stuff that impresses few people other than Noctilux/Leica buffs I guess my standards are low My point was that they look encouraging for quick in-camera jpg's, shot at high ISO, with a Noct at 1, by people unfamiliar with the camera, on a pre-production unit, in terrible lighting, and then downsized to 360k file sizes. They obviously lack detail and are pixelated when zoomed, but the basic lack of grain makes me think we have a sensor capable of more noise-free low light performance. I've confidence in Leica to deliver the CCD like image in the end result. I just think we should cut them some slack-- these photos certainly don't appear to be Leica sanctioned for dissemination. And yes, I am a Noctilux/Leica buff (though I still have trouble nailing the focus on the Noctilux). I also used to be (and still am for artistic photos) a "grain" fan from my black and white Leica film camera days (anyone want an M7?). When my Noct is firmly mounted to my new M I'll be excited to see the results.

algrove Posted November 9, 2012 Share #44 Posted November 9, 2012 I repeat-the SD cards are glued in place until Leica is ready. From what we know they are NOT yet ready with final firmware, therefore no images released yet except the chap from Normandy France, Jean Gaumy which was featured in the LFI Special Edition 4/2012.
