Advertisement Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Hi Rick, Take a look here The 28mm question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
viramati Posted October 13, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted October 13, 2012 I think the 28 cron ASPH is probably one of the best leica lenses In fact it is just one of the best lenses around. I use the combination of 2 M9s with lux 50 asph on one and the 28 on the other for around 90% of what I do.
urs0polar Posted October 14, 2012 Share #23 Â Posted October 14, 2012 I have the ZM 28mm/2.8 Biogon. It's awesome. However, I wish all the time that it was 2.0 or 1.4 Â Stopped down to 5.6, however, it is sharp sharp sharp (the largest size of this shot is 1:1): Â Untitled | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Â I did have to buy a lens spanner wrench for it though, as I found one day everything was all fuzzy. It turned out that the retaining ring around the rear element had jiggled itself loose and the rear element was wiggling around. Imagine if that ring had come off and fouled the shutter of my M6/M8? Â So, I check every so often that that ring is tight with the spanner, and now it's fine and super-sharp again. Maybe the other ZMs have this same design? Â If I had the money, I would get the 28/2.0 Summicron for the extra stop alone. But I'm sure it's even better than that: I have the 35/2.0 Summicron-R, and if it's anything like that lens, then it's a no-brainer.

Paulus Posted October 17, 2012 Share #26  Posted October 17, 2012 Why not choose the Elmarit-M ( IV) 1992-2006 2,8/28mm. The one just before the 2,8/28mm asph. It's the same size as the 2,0 . It looks like the 2,0.and it is really cheap. About € 1000-1300,- used. I am using it now for 16 years and it's great on film and M9. If you don't need the 2,0 stop. The 2,8 full open performance is great!
