I've read comments here that seem to suggest that it is easy to take part of a typeface (script type) and extrapolate to create a complete character set. As I said earlier, the capitals (or capital) is not likely to be part of a font. The smaller case letters look roughly similar to those wanted. The examples were meant to illustrate that the lettering can indeed be represented as a set of discrete glyphs of a font even if apparently daisy chained. The same lettering is used in front engravings "Leica Motor" (very long L____ ) in "Leicavit"... ; of course, there are the current red dots like in my M8... but not other bodies come to my mind...
