Jaybob Posted October 12, 2012 Share #25 Posted October 12, 2012 If these pictures are taken from an old camera then I would say it is really superb. Old cameras have certain good features unlike modern cameras have. YEAH! wait, what?
Tonki-M Posted October 16, 2012 Author Share #26 Posted October 16, 2012 as an update, i had in my mind to get the v1 5cm summicron coll, when my local dealer called that he had the summitar 5cm f2 in excellent condition. long story short, i now own the summitar and so far, am loving it. it gives the feel of the old leica lens that i wanted. philipus Posted October 16, 2012 Share #29 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) Yes agree, very nice shoots with the Summarit, which is a lens I have considered. The Summitar - I own a 1950 coated ten bladed copy - is a great lens which I use with my TTL. Some say its colour rendition is a bit unusual but I have not found that. It is a sharp lens in my experience and the fact that it collapses adds a lot to the portability of the camera. Edit: Here's an older shot wide open. colonel Posted October 19, 2012 Share #34 Posted October 19, 2012 I strongly recommend you buy and read the Leica pocket book edition 8 It has the MTF curves for most lenses so you can see easily the better ones Draw and colour are something else, but you can't go wrong starting from here
