stuny Posted October 3, 2012 Share #4 Posted October 3, 2012 I agree, too. the tip-off is the wings, which I think are called "dihedral," though I might have that revered with "cathedral" wings. Lovely shot.
Pecole Posted November 9, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2012 This is a Chance Vaught Corsair. The Goodyear Version was the FG-1 Just a small orthographical correction : Chance VOUGHT Corsair. even if the American pronunciation doesn't make the difference. Pecole Posted November 9, 2012 Share #6 Posted November 9, 2012 I agree, too. the tip-off is the wings, which I think are called "dihedral," though I might have that revered with "cathedral" wings. Lovely shot. And another correction : dihedral, in Aviation, means the one angle the wing makes with the horizon. Most planes have a positive dihedral, the Corsair has a twin, inverted negative/positive dihedral, sometimes called "gull wing".
