Advertisement Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Hi bwibowo, Take a look here M8 and Voigtlander 40mm 1.4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
skinnfell Posted September 29, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 29, 2012 As far as I know there is no way to do this. Your 50 lux, if the aspherical type, probably have a 6bit coding which tells the camera what focal length it is (and other info). There is no code for 40mm, and neither can you manually enter the lens like on the M9. Fortunately, normal lenses do not typically require much correction. I think you can select the correct lens in LR4 and copy that correction to shots you know are made with this lens. Its a hassle, but way better than nothing. lct Posted September 29, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 29, 2012 You might wish to code your Nokton 40/1.4 like a Summilux 35/1.4 asph (011101) as suggested by Carsten Whimster but it is the name of this latter lens which will appear in the exif data of your pics then. bwibowo Posted October 1, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted October 1, 2012 how to code the lens, which part is set?
lct Posted October 1, 2012 Share #5 Posted October 1, 2012 Better use a coder kit like to prevent possible errors. Now i have no experience with the CV 40/1.4 but as ar as IQ is concerned, i doubt that coding makes a lot of difference actually. I don't code my Summicron-C 40/2, M-Rokkor 40/2 nor Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph for instance. But i use them on an M8.2. Maybe coding is useful on FF cams like M9 or M240, i don't know. bwibowo Posted October 6, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted October 6, 2012 what you mean by IQ concerne? i have lux 50 1.4 and cv 40 1.4, on the daylight not so much different. but on the night i saw the has less distortion. and back to price i think it's worth to have cv 40 1.
lct Posted October 6, 2012 Share #7 Posted October 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry, i meant that as far as image quality is concerned, i doubt that coding makes a lot of difference actually. I did not bother to code my Summicrons 40/2 for this reason. Otherwise the CV 40/1.4 suffers from focus shift according to serious reviewers but i have no experience with it.
