pfhrased Posted February 5, 2014 Share #103 Posted February 5, 2014 Couldn't resist a bit of chrome Looks lovely I'm guessing the chrome 50/2 isn't nearly as front-heavy as the chrome 50/1.4?
IWC Doppel Posted February 5, 2014 Share #104 Posted February 5, 2014 It is quite heavy 335g vs 380g for the chromes, side by side with my black E46 pre asph 50 Summilux it is fractionally shorter so I suspect it is less front heavy, but it's still heavy in comparison to the black E46 pre asph 50. The black e46 pre asph 50 summilx is 275g I had a lot of interest in picking up a 50 Summilux E46 pre asph in chrome and selling my black version as I really like the look of a silver lens on black body, but given what you say perhaps I should stick to my black version, especially as its mint, coded and recently CLA'd. pfhrased Posted February 5, 2014 Share #105 Posted February 5, 2014 Not sure about the pre-asph, but my asph is ~460g - very very front heavy! I almost regret not getting black instead, but it looks so nice with the chrome body

profus Posted February 18, 2014 Share #113 Posted February 18, 2014 Yes, I was wondering that. The blog (which, unsurprisingly, is depressingly good) appears to consist of a number of themed entries that look to me like lightly curated collections from McCurry's archive. In other words, I assume most of the photographs are from his film days. We can just assume, that the latest images could be from M9, but I cannot really tell... Gerard Posted February 20, 2014 Share #116 Posted February 20, 2014 My M9-p is away (having new vulcanite installed). I miss it. But not half as much as I miss the 75 Summilux it went with. I'll be very glad to see both back (although I'm dreading the bill).
Guest Posted February 21, 2014 Share #117 Posted February 21, 2014 My M9-p is away (having new vulcanite installed). I miss it. But not half as much as I miss the 75 Summilux it went with. I'll be very glad to see both back (although I'm dreading the bill). Apparently Leica no longer makes the vulcanite that came with the (black) M9 and both M9-P's. When you get your camera back, could you report whether it has the original type vulcanite or the newer type found on the M240?
