Half of Niagara Falls lies in northern New York State and half in southern Ontario, Canada. This attraction carries passengers on a boat tour of both the American and Canadian sections of the falls. In continuous service since 1846, the Maid of the Mist is known for providing tourists an up-close view of the majestic falls. All boats for this tourist attraction have been named Maid of the Mist, with only a number notating the difference between vessels.
