asmith Posted August 28, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted August 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been seriously ill for some time and although a little better, I am still far from well, a result has been that I have not taken a photograph for some time and my two M9Ps have lain idle. Would it be wise to take a few shots now and then, however pointless, or take out the batteries and lay them up? Alwyn

Hope you feel better soon, regards Ralf

farnz Posted August 28, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted August 28, 2012 Alwyn, Â Very sorry to hear of your illness and I hope you're on the mend. Â As mentioned above both are a good idea but if you 'lay up' your batteries then conventional wisdom with Li-Ion batteries appears to be to discharge them to around half their capacity and keep them refrigerated (in a moisture-proof container of course). jonoslack Posted August 28, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted August 28, 2012 HI Alwyn I'm really sorry you've been Ill . . . and I hope you feel better really soon. Â I think you should use your cameras every day, take pictures of wherever you are (even if that's in bed). Take grab shots of the changing light in your room, practice focusing in the bedstead, think about the composition and light. You might even find a thread and get some useful images, but at the very worst you'll occupy time usefully and keep your focusing skills honed. Â batteries? Pshaw! Â all the very best for a swift recovery
pico Posted August 28, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted August 28, 2012 I hope for your recovery. I recently recovered then had a set-back and I expect another recovery and wish the same for you. Â Remove the battery and worry not until you are better again. Â My best of wishes, Pico
