Provenceman Posted August 24, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Has anyone used the M39 screw mount adapter to M mount bayonet to use the screw mount lenses on an M6 If so is there any loss of functionality of the lens when mounting the screw thread to the bayonet adapter Looking to purchase a lens with the M39 screw mount for my M6 This seems to be a less expensive way to go Thanks Provenceman
Advertisement Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Hi Provenceman, Take a look here Mount lens adapter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted August 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2012 Get a good quality adapter and be happy! (I get mine from cameraquest.com) Be certain you get one that will bring up the frame lines for the lens you plan to use. No functionality will be lost. There might be some caution if you get a collapsible lens. We need more information.

roydonian Posted August 24, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 24, 2012 As long as you buy a good-quality adaptor, all will be well in terms of handling. The only minor difference is that the tiny red marking on the adaptor ring that performs the same function as the red dot on an M lens may be hard to see. So mounting the adapted lens onto the camera may take a bit longer than normal. In the early days of the M system, Leitz sometimes created M lenses by glueing the appropriate adaptor ring on to the lens and attaching a red dot to the lens mount. At various times, I have used screw-mount 35 mm Summaron, 50 mm Summarit, 73 mm Hektor, 85 mm Summarex, and 135 mm Hektor lenses on my M8 or M9. Best regards, Doug
TomB_tx Posted August 24, 2012 Share #7 Posted August 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here's an LTM Voigtlander 50 f1.5 Nokton with adapter on my M6. This is a very nice combination. I added a raised dot to the back of the lens barrel to make aligning for mounting easier.
