innerimager Posted March 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi- For the M8, there are both, I got the chrome for the same body. Just got a chrome M6TTL, it's not clear that both are available, B&H seems to have just a black one for all the M bodies "except M5". Is there a chrome one available for the M6? Thanks....Peter
Advertisement Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi innerimager, Take a look here are there chrome & black handgrips for M6?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
topoxforddoc Posted March 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2007 Peter, Leica only do a black grip for the standard film Ms. If you want a choice, then try Tom Abramsson's Rapidgrip which comes in black, gloss black and chrome/stainless. See Tom's website http://www.rapidwinder.com. Tom's a lovely chap to deal with. Charlie
peter_n Posted March 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 13, 2007 and his Rapidgrip is truly excellent!
innerimager Posted March 13, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks guys. Does look nice, and it has a battery compartment for M6 TTL batteries. Funny, I may actually get it in black.....Peter
Peyton Hoge Posted March 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2007 I just received my ML Grip from PhotoEquip today. It is perfect for Leica M film cameras. Go to http://www.PhotoEquip.net and check it out. It is of the highest quality and blends in with the M style perfectly. I love it!!
innerimager Posted March 13, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted March 13, 2007 it looks great. I like the smaller size and the chrome design matches the chrome body quite well. Also, I was surprised that the rapidgrip appears to not be a single piece including base plate, while the ML grip does. Thanks....Peter
Peyton Hoge Posted March 13, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, the ML is a single piece. And it goes all the way across the baseplate. It is a quality made part.
innerimager Posted March 13, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks Peyton- I ordered one. My only concern is that the screw locks the grip securely enough. Talking to the fellow who makes them, he says the friction created by the overall fit and the rubber along with the screw really holds firm. Is that your experience? thanks again....Peter
Peyton Hoge Posted March 13, 2007 Share #9 Posted March 13, 2007 Yes...it holds great. No problems at all. And it blends in with the camera so well... it's the best one I've seen!! I think you'll be very pleased.

PATB Posted March 13, 2007 Share #11 Posted March 13, 2007 How does the ML grip feel with medium-smallish type hands? Do you hold the grip with two fingers or three? My concern is that with three fingers on the grip, it might be difficult to reach the shutter with the index finger. Thoughts?
think Posted March 15, 2007 Share #12 Posted March 15, 2007 I use an ML grip on one of my M6's. My experience with the ML grip is that my index finger is first knuckle on the shutter release, middle finger is on top of the grip and wrapped around, ring finger on and around and little finger just catches the bottom of the grip with the inside fingertip catching under the bottom plate. Very comfortable and steady hold. As soon as I've got the spare coin I plan to replace the Leica M grip on my other body with one as well as the ML is a full bottom cover and has less flex with a 75 Lux mounted. Artorius Posted March 17, 2007 Share #13 Posted March 17, 2007 Yes. The ML grip can be had in Black or Chrome. I use one on my M3 and M6. A pic here; http://www.rcartworks.com/images/Leica/NewM3_ext.jpg After I shot this pic, I re-leathered it to the Levant Black from Camera leather to get a closer match to the Vulcanite of the cameras.
