Which is my first CV lens and of course my first adapter. What comes first: The adapter to the camera and then the lens on the adapter or first adapter to lens and together on the camera? If you have mostly M mounts then you screw the cv into the converter and insert and remove the two together. But if you only use screw mount lenses then you can leave the adapter in the body and screw and unscrew the lenses. But then you may miss the frame selection. I don't know if there is a "right" way, but I've attached the 15 tightly to the adapter ring and then use that to take the 15 on and off the M8. (I had read somewhere that this is the preferred method for mounting/unmounting the lens.) If I were to buy another lens requiring an adapter I'd buy another ring. Would save time. hammam Posted March 12, 2007 Share #4 Posted March 12, 2007 Leave the adaptor on the lens. Buy different adaptors for different lenses. Of course, for the 15 mm, you can use any adaptor since there is no 15 framelines in the M8 (external VF required, the one that comes with the CV 21/4 Skopar should work just fine). If you want to save some money, you can use the same adaptor for two lenses, say 28/90, but screwing and unscrewing the adaptor from the lens is a chore. It didn't occur to me until this year that they had LTM to M adaptors on them, since the adaptors stayed on the lenses. The M bayonet mount/unmount operation is way easier than installing a screw thread lens. If you do happen to unscrew one of them from its mount, it's not easy to remove the adapter from an M throat. The back cap with three lugs, used as a wrench, is the only way I know of to coax it off. scott Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
