farnz Posted March 9, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since upgrading to 1.092 my EXIF files now all state 1 dpi for horizontal and vertical resolution. 1.09 showed 300 dpi. Â Now call me crazy if you must, but I think that 1 dpi is a little unlikely and would make for fairly uninteresting images. Â (The EXIF also states 24 bit depth, which might be a slight exaggeration but that's not changed with the firmware upgrade.) Â Has anybody else noticed this? Â Pete. Advertisement Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Hi farnz, Take a look here 1 dpi in 1.092???. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
808 Posted March 9, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 9, 2007 Now call me crazy if you must, but I think that 1 dpi is a little unlikely and would make for fairly uninteresting images. Depends on the viewing distance. After all, a M8 file would print to about 100 x 67 meters at 1 dpi.
cbretteville Posted March 9, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 9, 2007 Yes, the resolution data in the exif blocks are wrong, both for the main image and the embedded thumbnail. I reported it for 1.091, but it wasn't fixed before the release of 1.092. Â As far as I can see the bits per sample data still says 8-8-8 same as in previous releases. mjh Posted March 9, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 9, 2007 Yes, the resolution data in the exif blocks are wrong, both for the main image and the embedded thumbnail. Well, strictly speaking, the resolution data cannot be wrong. The EXIF resolution data is only meaningful for scanned images anyway.
