Hosermage Posted July 7, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted July 7, 2012 if they would add another piece of cloth on the back, then you can slip it on your belt and wear it like ammos
jaapv Posted July 7, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted July 7, 2012 It looks neat, but it is another thing that slows you down when changing batteries imo. I just have them loose in one pocket of my camera bag. It is something else if a piece needs mechanical protection, like filters. The B&W six-filter carrier is a similar device that is quite useful over loose boxes, for instance. I've used Think Tank products to store my memory cards and they're very handy and very well made.  Best wishes  Mike
jaapv Posted July 7, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted July 7, 2012 I sometimes have a Luigi battery case attached to my camera strap, but it is faster to get them from the camera case if you keep them in a separate compartment in my experience.

I ALWAYS put my M9 batteries in the same pocket so I know where to go for a replacement. The only advantage here is this keeps them from rattling around against each other, but in my case it takes up more room not less.
AlanJW Posted July 7, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted July 7, 2012 Sandisk used to make small pouches that it gave away with cf cards. I've found these make very nice holders for M9 batteries, no rattling and easy to grab.

Raul Posted July 8, 2012 Share #11 Â Posted July 8, 2012 Probably ok while you're in transit to a location. Â Once i'm in the hotel, i repack everything to bare minimum. Â On the field, i want as little stuff as possible on me. I carry a battery on one pants pocket and a memory card on a shirt pocket. North face shirts and pants do a good job with pockets. They dont bulge and they dont get in the way. Then the M9 is on a wrist strap. I just have a small sling bag for additional batteries and cards... Which rarely gets used. it gets dicey when you have to carry a water bottle. I have one of those sport hiker bags that do the job but water bottles are the most annoying things! edmond_terakopian Posted July 8, 2012 Author Share #12  Posted July 8, 2012 This looks really good, I wondered what solution you had found to cope with the proliferation of memory cards ?  I've been using the Think Tank Photo Pixel Pocket Rocket and Pee Wee Pixel Pocket Rocket for years now:  Search - Camera Bags, Backpacks, Belts, Beltpacks, more  They've recently brought out an SD only version which would be perfect for our use. Alas Snapper Stuff (UK) were out of stock when I ordered mine.  Edmond
edmond_terakopian Posted July 8, 2012 Author Share #13 Â Posted July 8, 2012 They sponsor him. Â They most certainly do not sponsor me, nor have they ever done. It would be good if things were checked before such definitive statements were made. Â I have in the past (a few years ago) been on the design board of Think Tank Photo (an invitation which is made to several photographers from around the world every year, resulting in input from users across several disciplines, resulting in what are by far my favourite and most used bags), but I have never been sponsored! edmond_terakopian Posted July 8, 2012 Author Share #14 Â Posted July 8, 2012 As far as it's quicker to have batteries loose in a bag, I disagree. Guess it depends on how many. I shoot with two M9s and carry four spare batteries. I used to use a Tamrac wallet to store these, but the form factor of the Think Tank one takes up less space and is less fat. Once I use a battery, I insert it with the label away from me and this way I know it's depleted. With loose batteries, unless one only has one battery, it would be impossible to know. As some of you know, I'm a news photographer and this way of working works for me extremely well and I've certainly never missed a shot because of it! pico Posted July 9, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted July 9, 2012 [...]As some of you know, I'm a news photographer [...] Â Have you used Newswear's Chest Vest? It is very good unless one doesn't want to look too utilitarian.
edmond_terakopian Posted July 9, 2012 Author Share #16 Â Posted July 9, 2012 Have you used Newswear's Chest Vest? It is very good unless one doesn't want to look too utilitarian. Â I have indeed; I had two of them. Liked them very much, as well as the pouches, but the company wan't very open to ideas unfortunately. In place of my Chestvests I have now for years been using the Think Tank Photo Change Up with two Skin body pouches attached either side. More comfortable and infinitely more configurable. To top it off, it doesn't look anywhere near as military!

It's an issue to be aware off though - when an article is posted clearly as a review, saying that the author is sponsored (and by association must be biased), questions journalistic integrity. intermediatic Posted July 11, 2012 Share #19 Â Posted July 11, 2012 If you have the Luigi case then you can store batteries in a luigi batter holder which also has room for two SD cards. Everyone thinks you have film in there.
pico Posted July 11, 2012 Share #20 Â Posted July 11, 2012 It is great to learn that you have experience with the Newswear gear. I used a borrowed rig once, then lost track of the source. I'll have to look into the Think Tank Photo Change Up. Â Great help. Thanks so much.
