I've been looking for a way to protect my lenses and hoods while carrying them around or storing them without continually dismantling them and misplacing lens caps & hoods.

I ran across a product called a "Lens Hoodie" made by LensCoat. The XXS size fits quite nicely on my Zeiss ZM35 & ZM50 with the lens shade installed. the XS fits my Summilux 50 v2 with the 12586 shade installed.

Thought I would share as this is a good solution for me and I won't chance loosing one of those expensive Leica caps since I'll keep them at home now...

Below is a link to the XXS that I purchased and a photo of my M9 with it installed.

Works very well. I have an Optech hoodie on my 24 mm Summilux ASPH, which is quite big compared to other Leica lenses. The hood has helped against damage from bumping many times.

Thanks Jeff, I've been using this product for a short while and found them to be a good alternative to a full case when doing outdoor stuff where the camera/lens could get rough handling. The camera has a half case and the lens is protected with these. They can be removed quickly and put in a pocket.

Egad, a camera condom...

This begs the question, what do you wear under your hoodie? UV filter, Lens Cap, Hood, and a hood cap?

What ever to going naked?

Just the hood - no filter, no lens cap. My whole purpose was to make it simple to protect the lens while carrying without having to remove the hood or a lens cap. The Hoodie covers the factory hood and part of the lens, has a thick pad on the front as well.
