The big issue is that iTTL is supported only by the SF 24D. The 20D shoots in auto mode or manual only. The new Leica TTL is really quite good so to me the only choice is the SF24D or one of the Metz units if you need tilt and swing of the head. Yes but I don't have the data on those units handy. I took an old Nikon SC17 (believe that is the right nomenclature) remote flash cord and just hold the SF24D in my left hand and the camera with my right. (Better of course to have the camera on a tripod) I can then control the height of the flash as well as the tilt and swivel. The cord is the standard Nikon cord so is readily available. Hope this helps Woody
charlesphoto99 Posted March 10, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 10, 2007 I cut a piece of diffusion material (1 stop frost I believe) and sandwiched it between the head and the wide diffuser on my SF20. Cuts down power and range but works well for a softer light.

gogopix Posted March 10, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 10, 2007 or use one of the contax flash in auto mode instead. I have a 360 and it work very well in bounce mode. The light is well controlled and there are two flash units, large and fill, so I use the large at 45 degrees. Works very well on both DMR and M8 regards
