Vignetting

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. My 28mm Elmarit ASPH vignettes on the M9 :eek:.

 

I took some shots of sunset yesterday at f/8. I wonder if this is a common problem with this lens .I had the lens hood on.

 

Any comment or advice are welcome.

Ditto with mine and a collapsible rubber hood.

 

I've just taken a pair of scissors to it as a result.....:rolleyes:

I should add, that IMO Many Leica hoods are more cosmetic than functional. A third party hood is preferable if serious flare is a possibility. The downside of 'compact design'.

Possibly for flare, but I value mine as much for the extra protection they give against wandering fingers.

Your fingers need more training. ;)

 

. . . or are you referring to grandchildren?

They are very responsive to training.
