Stuart,

That was The Chap Olympiad, which is held annually in London.

There are none of those 'common' events like: running as fast as you can for 100 yards, jumping as far as you can, throwing the pointy stick as far as you can, wrestling an opponent into submission, or trying to put a ball though a hoop while five other gentlemen try to prevent you. This is the gentleman's olympics with proper events such as:

- Cucumber Sandwich Discuss

- Butler Racing

- Ironing Board Surfing,

- Shouting at Foreigners

- Moustache Tug-of-war

- Brolly Jousting

- Hop, Skip, and G&T

- Not Playing Tennis

- Swooning

Any contestant displaying any intention of winning, even accidentally, is immediately disqualified for exhibiting ungentlemanly conduct. And quite rightly so.

The event was most enjoyable as can be seen below from the smile on the OP's face, which was liberally and expertly lubricated with Pimms that was entirely responsible for his unforgivably dishevelled state.

Pete.

Sadly we have arrived at the end of the 25th Barnack's Monthly but again the thread was filled with lovely shots and excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme.

Thank you to everyone who helped make July's Barnack's Monthly a success by either posting, thanking, or just looking and I hope you enjoyed doing it and will do it again.

Special thanks to those who posted for the first time in the thread and if you did please post some more because we'd love to see it!

You will find Barnack's Monthly for August 2012: THE NUMBER 3 here.

I do hope you will follow the link and post some shots.

Pete.
