M8 Sharpening

My M8 is set to "standard" sharpening and I can't change it when it is on RAW (DNG). When I scroll down and push the set button, it remains the same, no options are given. If I have the camera on JPEG then I can change to other options. I'm wondering why this was designed this way. Any thoughts????

Thanks,

The DNG file is a negative, it has no sharpening applied at all. The in-camera settings for sharpening and so on all apply only to JPEG, since the in-camera JPEG engine is doing to files what your RAW developed will do to DNGs out of the camera. That's the usual way in pretty much all cameras that shoot RAW as well as JPEG. If you shoot DNG+JPEG, the settings are available and are applied only to the JPEG.
