This was late afternoon, so looking toward the west at the Sun. That places North to the right. Technical data: Mylar solar filter in front of lens, 400mm f/6.8 Telyt-V, Visoflex, M9. It strikes me just how large the sun is considering Venus is about the same size as the earth and it is closer to the sun. Anyway that was my reaction when I got home and looked at my picture.
