IWC Doppel Posted June 6, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted June 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a slight play that is a slight knock as it rocks, holding the red dot base and the top and rocking holding the top of the lens. I hope this is just a small adjustment, should I worry about the likely bill

IWC Doppel Posted June 7, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted June 7, 2012 It is betwen the mount and the top of the lens. If you hold the black mount and the top of the lens where the hood mounts you can feel play (not evident on any of my other lenses) I am sending it for a service as it's clearly not right
2Ms Posted June 7, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted June 7, 2012 I have this problem on one of my summicron rigids. In fact I have it on all of them except the play on one of them is more noticeable than the others. Â It's particularly noticeable when the lens is focused at the mInimim focusing distance. Titling the camera quickly often results in a little vibration and a knocking sound. If I hold the mount and rock the optical unit play can be felt. Â The lens is over fifty years old though. Â I'll probably get it looked at one day.
farnz Posted June 7, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted June 7, 2012 I have the same play and, in fact, if I keep turning the top it comes right off and I can see amber fluid inside. Oh no wait, that's a bottle of whisky. Â Pete.
