@Jeff S: i will focus on shoulder bag in messenger style (that fits a M body with a couple of lenses and accessories, not DSLR systems, not the standard camera bag), otherwise it will be a too large list.

Paul,

Great list. You might want to add The Black Label bag line sold by Photo Village in NYC. I have had mine since buying my first M9 and it hold up very well and seems to be my go to bag when running out for a shoot.

Added, but is the same bag as the Artisan & Artist.

You could ad "the bag that Stephen will not make for me even if I pay him 250.000 euro" (please PM SJP for details of what it does not look like).

This bag is not available, even at a surcharge, an indeed less than 1 will ever be made. Also, the manufacturer (SJP incorporated) will not use a dead animal, even if dead by accident, road kill or similar. Vegetable might be an option, but that would require additional evidence.

See how easy it is to make the worlds most desirable bag??? Maybe I should start a marketing career.

:D

  • For me fits
    • as shoulder-bag the ThinkTank Retrospective 5:
      • It has a rain cover,
      • doesn't look like a photo-bag and
      • holds easy accessible: 1 M-Body with Leica handgrip in Artisan Halfcase, Tri-Elmar 4.0 16-18-21 with Finder, Tri-Elmar 28-35-50mm, Nokton 1.4 40mm, Summicron-M 2.0 90mm and Tele-Elmar-M 4.0 135mm, 2 Grey-Filters, Cards, Keys

[*]as backpack the Tamrac Evolution 6:

      • It has a rain cover,
      • it holds - through 1 front or 2 side doors easy accessible - the above mentioned equipment (plus an additional small lens) plus in the top compartment an Ortlieb Waterbag (1-2 l), a light rain jacket, a small umbrella,
      • it also easily carries a small travel-tripod or it holds - if you fiddle a flexible cord through the eight lashes - a sweater or jacket - a perfect solution for trekking and long walks;
      • in insecure areas you can secure the zippers of the top and the front compartment with locks, the zippers of the doors of the side compartments with thin carabiners

The bag as listed in posting #30 is still noticeably missing from the otherwise more or less OK list. I smell some censure.

Send me a PM with the details and www adres. Is it a bag of mouse skin?

What a profound difference there is between the US and our friends over the Atlantic. Do you all really carry man-purses (called a 'Murse' here) for cameras? Not that it is a bad thing. I get kidded by my neighbors for carrying a canvas messenger bag! For one Leica, the M9 which is still precious to me, I use a soft, battered Benser ever-ready case. The other eight Leicas suffer the usual dings and abuse. The M9 will too, eventually.

Do you purchase a murse to match shoes? Belt? Cap? :)
