Advertisement Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Next year's pine cone. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted May 20, 2012 Author Share #2 Â Posted May 20, 2012 Always amazed at the level of detail this camera body and lens can produce. 12 Mpx? Can't wait to try out the D800 with it. (Just a 100% crop from the shot above) Â
Guest suilvenman Posted May 20, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted May 20, 2012 In #1 beautiful focused detail with equally beautiful Renoir defocused background. Â Both are excellent. Â Â Ken.
Paul Verrips Posted May 20, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted May 20, 2012 Hi Andy, Â Stunning result. Did you sharpen the picture & tweaked the colors or is this straight out of the camera?
andybarton Posted May 20, 2012 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 20, 2012 It's been processed in Aperture, but it's pretty much out of the camera as far as sharpening is concerned. I deliberately under-exposed it to try not to burn the highlight on the pollen out too much. Â The 60 Macro-Elmarit-R really is a stunning lens, and an incredible bargain. MEB Posted May 20, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted May 20, 2012 The detail is excellent but for me, what makes this picture is the light that you captured. Well done. Â Mark Blumer
Bill Allsopp Posted May 20, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted May 20, 2012 The lighting, dof and bokeh in the first is excellent, a lovely pic' all round.
pauledell Posted May 20, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted May 20, 2012 Andy, Â The first one has great composition, colors, lighting , sharpness and bokeh. The second is stunning for its sharpness, colors and detail. I like them both equally well. Â Paul

leicamann Posted May 22, 2012 Share #13  Posted May 22, 2012 Nice shot..and of course this lens is part of the "Gem" series that came out at that time.  The D800 should be a fabulous addition..myself I would consider the D800E for that added sharpness...and lets not forget the amazing value, considering the hefty cost of its predecessors .   Thanks for posting  Cheers, JRM
