MEB Posted May 19, 2012 Share #1  Posted May 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was standing on my front porch and I heard a low rumbling hum. I looked up at the corner of my living room window and saw this! They were not there yesterday. As I write this a bee-keeper is coming over to collect them. M9 with 75 cron. pauledell Posted May 20, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted May 20, 2012 Mark, Â I would have been out of there before the shot was taken. I hope they were removed successfully and don't come back. Â Paul

MEB Posted May 25, 2012 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 25, 2012 Suuum, Paul and Brill, Â It was surprising to me how docile the bees were. When I took this and other photographs they were flying around me but ignoring me. I got as close as 8 feet from them but they were totally focused on building the hive. There are probably over 4000 bees in that cluster. (go here to see a very interesting close-up that I took with another camera: Honey Bee colony | Flickr - Photo Sharing! ) Â It took the bee keeper a bit over 2 hours to collect the bees. He was surprised at how much construction of the hive that they had accomplished in just a matter of hours and how attached they were to my house. He would scoop them up to put into a hive box and they would immediately swarm back to the corner of the window. Brill, I think you are right...there is something that they especially like about my home. I hope they are happy in their new location....and stay there. melissah Posted May 27, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted May 27, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) you probably dont have any GMO food stuff growing nearby, which might be why they want to live with you! poland just banned GMO food stuff because of (probability) the honeybees disappearing. excellent shot.
