Advertisement Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hi tashley, Take a look here 1.092 is up. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
chetccox Posted March 6, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Yes, it is there - but I sincerely think they need to do something about whoever is in charge of posting on the web. In the first place it is only 2 mb, compared to 1.091 which was 4 something. The archive is corrupt - it is in zip format and you can't extract the upd file. stunsworth Posted March 6, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Extracted ok here. Unzipped file is 4.45 meg.
chetccox Posted March 6, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 6, 2007 I downloaded it 3 times and got the same corrupt file problem using winrar to extract it. I never have a problem using winrar. The website itself shows it as only 2mb, but of course it is zipped. Anyone else have a problem? It says 'unexpected end of archive'. I downloaded it from this address: Leica Camera AG - Downloads and tried extracting it with 3 different programs all with the same result.

Maybe the server is somewhat overloaded  Best regards  Karl-Heinz

tashley Posted March 6, 2007 Author Share #8  Posted March 6, 2007 Took this shot three times in a row and each had different WB, by quite a wide margin.  I feel right at home!  Tim Welcome, dear visitor! Shootist Posted March 6, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Some smuck at Leica created a double .ZIP file. Once you download the 1.092.zip file and extreact it it creates another file with NO extension. Change the name to something like m8-1_092 to m8-1_0921 and add the .ZIP extension. Then extract that new file you just change the name and extension on and you will get the m8-1_092.upd file with the correct size. No I have not yet installed it on the camera but I'm about to. Fred Schang Posted March 6, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Looks like the US site is updated now as well. Â I experienced no problems downloading and unizpping with camino on my mac pro. I updated from 1.091 (without reverting to older firmware) without a hitch.
judybabinski Posted March 6, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted March 6, 2007 My download shows up on my desktop (MacBook) as m8-1_092.upd. When I double click to open, the computer says there is no default application to open. Should I just copy the .upd file to a SD and then load the SD into the camera? The .upd file is 4.5mb. Â Thanks judy
chetccox Posted March 6, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted March 6, 2007 I downloaded it from the US website with no problems. It extracts as it should, but the German site still gives me the same corrupt file.
jaapv Posted March 6, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Winzip refuses to open it: Archive not valid Can somebody post the unzipped version somewhere?
Shootist Posted March 6, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted March 6, 2007 I downloaded it again using the USA site/link and placed the download in a sub-folder and then the extraction went straight to the UPD file. You got me why I had problems with the first download.
chetccox Posted March 6, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Get it from the US website. It unzips.
judybabinski Posted March 6, 2007 Share #16 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Ok, I read the instructions and I do copy the .upd file to an SD card. Â Thanks Judy
stunsworth Posted March 6, 2007 Share #17 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Ed, that isn't the case here. Downloaded ok as a ZIP and contains a .UPD file. This is the case on both the German and US sites. Â Are you certain it isn't a problem with your machine?
george + Posted March 6, 2007 Share #18 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Yes, it is there, on the German site. But code is code; so who cares? . Yes, it unzips fine and loads in about two minutes. Â And it seems to work like 1.091 - but probably without the bug(s) - if there were any. Â Small, funny thing. At first it did not recognize my uncoded 90mm Tele Elmarit. Then I removed and remounted the lens and voila. . . the recognition works. Must be the view selector lever. But how it can tell the max aperture is a mystery to me. Â Anyway, thanks Leica, we knew you care. We knew few new things are absolutely perfect to start with - but can be improved as time goes by. That is progress. Bravo! geoffreyg Posted March 6, 2007 Share #19 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Downloaded from US site, unzipped (Safari, OS10.4,8), no problems at all. Went in the camera just fine. Seems great!
etienne_werner Posted March 6, 2007 Share #20 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Funny thing, I too got a zip error on the german site. So went to the USA site and that worked fine. Will wait with installing till you dare devils work out the bugs:D
