Bill W Posted March 6, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) After several emails to Leica, I finally received my letter concerning the 30% lens discount. I know this is old news to most, but it is new to me. I certainly want to take advantage of the offer but I am in a quandry about what lens to order. The Noctilux is very attractive since the price listed is still the old price and can be purchased for $2,735. I am not sure I would use the Noc as I have the 50 lux already oI would end up selling it. What I am sure I would use is the 35 lux and sell my 35 cron which I need to have coded. I know there are those that have had issues with the 35 lux but it is a focal length and speed I would use a lot. Should I buy and sell or sell and buy. I already have the 24, 28 cron, 50 lux, 75 cron (on its way) and the 90 cron. They are all asph and coded except the 90 which I have a free coding to use on it and the 35 cron. I always appreciate any thoughts from this crowd.
Advertisement Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hi Bill W, Take a look here Lens Decision. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
scjohn Posted March 6, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 6, 2007 I have the 50 lux also but was still tempted to get the Nocti with my discount. (I enjoy fast lenses and enjoy using narrow DOF in my shots). I ultimately picked the 28 2.0 with my discount but had I known of the price increase I would have ordered the nocti instead. (In fact, if NJ calls to "confirm" or emails I would ask to switch.) Â If your plan is to get the best value for sale I suspect the Nocti is a no-brainer. I knew I wouldn't sell so I had to pick the lens I thought I would use most.
